When testing our products on friends and family, we soon realised that kids were some of our biggest fans. Many of the younger ones were incredulous that they were actually eating fruit.
‘But it’s like a chip!’
‘It fizzes on my tongue!’
‘How can this be chewy and crunchy at the same time?’
As mums who were often greeted by ravenous pre-tweens after school, we were merely looking to incorporate some variety in their snacking habits. Our daughters and their friends suddenly preferred the deep chew of dried banana to a gummy bear, and chose the airy crunch of freeze dried mangosteen over a clawingly sweet meringue. But it was perhaps when my son actually chose a dried dragon fruit disc to a BBQ bacon crisp, that we knew we were on to something big.
The cutest thing though? Small kids and big ones alike have come to adopt our Kooky Tiger as a pet of sorts. We have seized this golden opportunity to teach them what being Kooky is truly all about – love, acceptance and empowerment. Regardless of colour, culture, size, race or gender, they are all pretty unique. And these kids are proof that diversity is a beautiful thing.
